Candidate should have 10+ years experience in process engineering in the heavy industrial sector and a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility. Candidate must be a self starter knowledgeable of the complexities of industrial design. He or she must be an experienced, functioning part of a project design team consisting of other process engineers as well as the demonstrated ability to understand the requirements of engineering design staff from other disciplines. The candidate must have experience in mineral processing and material handling. The individual will be responsible for the process engineering for specific project. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Related Responsible for the development of process design for mineral processing from conceptual through final design. Selects, recommends, and prepares preliminary designs. Works with Mechanical Engineers to determine equipment number and sizing requirements. Create sketches for PFD of the process suitable for drafting by less experienced personnel. Develop accurate mass and energy balances for processes. Gathers information, makes studies, and prepares original rough PFD sketches to present with the design proposal Creates a written process narrative that describes how the process is to operate. Work with Controls/automation to develop the control system philosophy. Requires occasional single or multiple day site visits to gather information etc. Extended on-site assignments are occasionally required. Participates in inter-discipline checks of project specifications and drawings. Interface with client on project process issues. Participates in HAZOP reviews as related to the project. Assist in prepare project Scope of Work for project proposals. Assist in providing a detailed Cost Estimate for the proposals based upon the Scope of Work. Occasionally assist marketing/sales with sales literature and client visits. Must be willing to train/mentor less experienced staff. EDUCATION, Qualifications and experience required: 10+ years experience in development of industrial processes. Baccalaureate in Chemical or Metallurgical engineering required. Master of Science Degree preferred. Candidate shall have a track of increasing responsibility. Professional License required or the ability to obtain a P.E. within one year of employment. Must have demonstrated experience leading design groups both in the office and in the field. Experience with mining/mineral processing. Experience in mechanical material handling design and plant layout a plus. Experience in hydrocarbon process a plus. Must have prior consulting engineering experience.
