The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. Client employees work closely with their esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various client technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead system engineering efforts towards integrating new functionality to a large real-time satellite command and control subsystem that is already in development. The emphasis is on updating and expanding system capabilities. Candidates must demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of various engineering disciplines and a passion for making a system come together. Towards this end, candidates must have the ability to quickly learn existing operational concepts, system requirements, interface design, and system design. Primary activities will include: Refining operational concepts; Performing functional analyses and trade studies Developing design material Providing guidance to software engineers to update and implement the design Developing test plans and procedures Specifying test configurations and test equipment Performing system integration and test Assisting with the verification and validation of subsystem requirement (to include demonstration verification test, site installation and site acceptance testing) The ability to interact confidently with customers is highly desired, as are familiarity with DOORS and the abilities to work proficiently with networks, custom developed and COTS software products, COTS hardware, and digital signal processing. Basic Qualifications Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a specialized area or field or equivalent, and 5 – 10 years of related experience; or master’s degree and 4 – 8 years of related experience. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate should have an active TS/SCI clearance.
