Hello Folks, Here is a very good Job Opportunity with our Direct Client for the position Infrastructure Engineer in Dupont Cir, DC NOTE: GC-EAD/GC/Citizen and Its a Contract to Hire Position JOB DESCRIPTION: Title: Senior Specialist, IT Operations Technician Department: IT Infrastructure and Support (ITIS) Reports to: Associate Director, IT Infrastructure and Support Location: Dupont Cir,DC Function and Scope: The Sr. Specialist, IT Operations Technician is responsible for the day to day operations of the Client's computer network, Data Center, Internet resources, assisting IT directors with implementing new technologies, project participation, maintaining and monitoring current systems, and assisting the helpdesk staff with top tier support. (Normal work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with occasional weekend and night work for repairs, updates, patches, and maintenance). Major Duties and Responsibilities: Update servers with latest critical and security patches. Upgrade server applications as required by departments. In conjunction with SQL DBA Team, plan and apply latest patches for all SQL Servers. Monitoring and Support. Monitoring network and servers for issues, errors, problems, etc. Provide management monitoring of critical servers and services. Triage issues, escalate as required and monitor to resolution. Monitoring and maintenance of server backup systems. Primary staff member for all syslog activities. This includes monitoring and analyzing server event logs with third party tools, triaging discovered problems and informing appropriate departments/teams of issues and monitoring until resolution. Monitoring enterprise anti-virus console for all servers (this does not include client machines). Review anti-virus logs and reports for issues and resolve. Implement and enforce required policies and procedures for HIPPA and PCI compliance. Coordinate the repair of all hardware failures. Provide on-call and off-hours support as required. Server operations. Implement new servers and decommission retired servers. For new servers, this predominantly entails provisioning and setting up virtual servers in ESXi environment. Occasionally, the candidate will be required to install physical servers (rack and stack), cable, install OS, and document. Administration and support of file servers, file systems, managing permissions and access. This includes MS File Share servers, CIFs, NAS, etc. Supporting and Administering Microsoft Clusters Project support and implementation. This entails implementing new technologies and solutions. Will be required to work with any combination of teams: IT Operations Team, IT Management, Application Development, Project Managers and/or business lines. Provide assistance to application development staff for questions and escalation of application/system issues. Equipment management and support. Assisting IT management with registering, tracking, and renewing equipment maintenance contracts and network software licensing. Assist with processing new hires, employee changes and separations including network and telephone account creations/modifications and coordination of equipment configuration and installation. Assist with administering the telephone, email & voicemail systems. Assist with enterprise equipment management and inventory management. Provide top tier technical support to IT Helpdesk staff and assist with complex issues and resolutions. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/certification. 4 + years’ experience with Datacenter and Server Support with 100+ servers. 2 + years’ experience with HP, Dell, IBM and/or Cisco UCS servers. 2 + years’ experience with VMWare ESX/i provisioning, administration and configuration. 3 + years’ experience with `Microsoft Server 2008/R2 administration, patching, upgrades, installation, monitoring and support. 2 + years’ experience with Active Directory administration, group policy and support. Syslog and Server Event Monitoring Tools (Solarwinds, Whatsup Gold, Splunk, Kiwi Professional or equivalent) Third Party tools for MS Server patching experience (Shavlik, Tivoli or equivalent). Third Party tools for Server and Data backups experience Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack and OSI model. DNS Experience installing, troubleshooting and supporting the following equipment and software. Rack mount and blade server platforms. Network Management and documentation tools – Orion, WhatsUp Gold, HP SIM or equivalent. Microsoft Exchange 2007 or 2010 Excellent customer service skills. Ability to participate in irregular hours, including evening and weekend hours for patching, updates, and projects. Ability to analyze IT Operations activities and offer new approaches to provide efficiencies. Ability to follow procedures, checklists and guidelines. Ability to effectively document processes, procedures and application and network environment. Desired Qualifications: Major Manufacturer Certification. MCSE, CCNA, Exchange MCITP, VCP, etc. VOIP/Unified Communications: Cisco Call Manager and Suite or equivalent Cisco LAN Switch/Router Configurations/NAC Cisco Firewall Configuration SAN Technologies: EMC CX/VNX, Data Domain, iSCSI and Fiber Channel (Cisco MDS).
