EPIC Analyst
EMR EpiCare Contractor Epic ICD-10 Conversion and Physician Charge Capture In need of an individual with the following skills and experience to participate in the analysis, testing, and implementation of Epic’s functionality to meet CMS’s ICD-10 requirements and implement physician charge capture in the clinics. Time period: start September 2012 end June 30, 2014 Requirements: · Epic Ambulatory certification required; Clinical Documentation certification required, Procedure Orders and Orders Transmittal Masters certification preferred · Demonstrated hands-on system build experience, process design and testing for clinical documentation tools used by clinicians, nurses and ancillary services in both a hospital setting and Ambulatory setting · System configuration and build experience with navigators, best practice alerts, health maintenance, doc flowsheets, notes activity configuration, Smart Sets, Order Sets and user security · Knowledge of ambulatory physician and back office nursing and specialty department clinical documentation workflows, care planning, and charging using Epic’s Ambulatory Clinical application · Experience developing a test plan and executing test scenarios for Best Practice Alerts, Health Maintenance, Documentation Flowsheets, Reports and Print Groups and SmartTools · Experience documenting and developing communication documents for physician and nursing staff · Experience in leading projects and clinical workgroup system design and review sessions. · Experience using Constellation and reviewing and testing Epic Release Notes for a System Upgrade Responsibilities: a. Provide analysis of current and future system configuration required to implement ICD-10 coding b. Provide analysis of downstream systems which interface with Epic for the impact of sending ICD-10 codes c. Provide expertise and consultation to the Application Team for system configurations and workflows d. Participate in meetings with stakeholders from physician groups, nursing, ED, OB, hospital service departments, information systems, clinic operations and reporting. Document main points, issues and key decisions e. Analyze, configure, document and test Epic System changes as assigned f. Validate system build with key stakeholders g. Ensure test scenarios are adequately documented and perform testing as needed h. Provide documentation and training to transfer knowledge and operational support to the Application Team and Production Operations/Support staff
