Lead project planning position - Grimsby - Water
Responsible for development and administration of project programmes with regard to baseline progress, programme and change management. Conducts critical path analysis and provides earned value reporting accurately measuring progress and efficiency. Identifies and communicates performance issues to project manager and team. Essential Knowledge of Primavera version 6 and Microsoft Planner 2007, logic analysis, and basic knowledge of EV concepts and methods. Able to work independently with minimum direction and capable of reviewing his/her own work. Communication: comfortable speaking/presenting to groups; good written & oral skills (able to produce reports and communicate them to the team and management) Experience: experience in the water/construction industry; will have a working knowledge of Project programme development and maintenance Personal attributes: outgoing, confident speaker, goal oriented and results, organised, logical thinker. Driver license Responsible for planning and project controls functions for a portfolio of small to medium size water and waste water projects performing the following main functions in accordance to requirements of the business and project contracts. Develop tender programmes with bid team support, including activity detail and logic, building from existing information and project contract documentation for water industry projects in line with contract requirements. Building on tender programmes, add activity detail and logic to build the execution level programme based on project information (e.g. drawing and specifications) for the water industry projects in line with contract requirements for NEC contracts (Clause 31 programme). Load budget resource and cost information into programmes to enable earned value (EV) management. Update programmes and resource/cost data, assess progress via earned value techniques, and re-forecast future work based in support of regular reporting and analysis and in line with contract requirements for NEC contracts (Clause 32 programmes). Interface with project team members for the development and updating of the project programme. Complete project control project report sections accurately and in a timely manner, and support project management in the preparation and distribution of the project report. Convey programme information to the teams and management in a concise and understandable way. Interface with subcontractors and partners in planning and project controls issues, including review of subcontractor programmes for feasibility, completeness and alignment to master project programme. Assist project management with extension of time claims and general programme impact assessment. Work with senior management to find ways to improve project execution.
