Enterprise Storage Manager
SGA, Inc. has a premier medical industry client seeking a Enterprise Storage Manager for a contract position in Durham, NC. Job Description This position performs a variety of complex professional responsibilities in providing information systems and technology support for the achievement of the organizations mission and objectives. These responsibilities include strategically evaluating, planning, and implementing storage area network-related technology solutions; administering, maintaining, and monitoring the operating stability, scalability and efficiency of the storage area network; ensuring the security of information; and providing technical support for our users. The Enterprise Storage Manager (ESM) position requires broad and deep skills across disciplines, and directs the day-to-day activities of organizational storage administrators. In addition, the ESM is capable of performing the duties of the Senior Storage Administrator, to include participation in on-call duties as assigned. Primary Job Responsibilities * Provides technical leadership and mentoring in the analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of Storage Network-based technology solutions that will ensure optimum performance, availability and recoverability. * Creates, evaluates and implements plans and design proposals for high-impact storage solutions and their use. The plans and designs involve leading edge storage technologies and methods, while considering key factors, such as their long-term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), practicality, technical limitations and criticality. * Serves as a principal member of the Business Continuity Program and also consults for other information assurance/security activities. * Performs work of high complexity and engages in performance testing, problem analysis, business and technical analysis. * Responsible for storage-related budgeting, vendor/contract management, and procurement. * Coordinate/consult with outside vendors on new initiatives and maintenance activities relating to Storage Networking technologies. * As a member of the Architecture Review Team, this solution architect contributes to designs applied to all aspects of business systems, infrastructure prototypes and eventual implementation. * Perform systems capacity analysis and provides recommendation to management. * Maintain minimal system/user downtime. * Establish and maintain best practices and procedures for patch management (including firmware management), virus management (as it relates to the Storage Area Network), and tiered storage. * Provide automated system monitoring and reporting. * Coordinate/consult with fellow Network Services staff, Application Development and Database Administrator personnel to profile application needs and provide the appropriate environment(s) needed for stability and performance. * Communicate issues effectively to team members and management. * Provide incident management, prioritization, and resolution of problems/tasks for users. * Participate in documenting policies and procedures and changes made to the storage area networking environment. * Participate in the on-call rotation schedule. * Participate in Change Management (submitting and representing Requests for Change RFCs) * Perform other activities as required to meet the needs of the organization. Education/Training Bachelors degree and 5 or more years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience * A minimum of five years related experience with a strong knowledge of network-related hardware/software, related peripherals, practices, policies, and procedures. * Must have at least three years of system administration experience on Microsoft Windows Operating System platforms. * Experience in Active Directory/Domain infrastructure support. * Experience with Intel hardware and peripheral installation, maintenance and software packaging. * Experience with SAN/NAS storage solution, specifically Client EVA technology. * Familiarity with VMWare (ESX), Citrix, and SMS is also highly desirable. * Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. * Strong customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills, strong documentation skills, advanced technical skills
