This position will support relational database management systems (RDBMS) and application server software such as: Microsoft SQL Server primarily and secondarily MySQL and Microsoft Access, as requested. • Maintain relational database infrastructure, software, upgrades, and patches. • Maintain supported database solutions. • Monitor all database systems. • Monitor and manage database capacity planning and resource utilization. • Maintain backup and recovery. • Develop and enhance backup and recovery procedures. • Implement database security strategies for user access levels. • Perform database auditing, patch management, and other tasks, as needed, to ensure regulatory compliance and a proactive security posture. • Administer user accounts. • Index and optimize database operations to ensure integrity. • Develop sequential query language (SQL) and system shell scripts. • Support client connectivity to the database(s). • Provide technical assistance to application developers and end-users. • Perform, develop, and document disaster recovery tests, in accordance with departmental policy, and on a quarterly basis to ensure data integrity, confidentiality and availability. Bachelor's degree and 11 years or Master's degree and 9 years of relevant experience. SQL Server 2008 Database Administration certification desired.
