The Developer will be primarily responsible for client-side JavaScript development. Applications involve complex logic and data handling on the client-side and are not HTML pages; but fully dynamic JavaScript applications. Responsibilities will often include contributing to the server-side development of database access and interfacing with various services. The systems operate under technical constraints that require careful architecture of code structure and data connections. The Developer will be expected to grasp these issues and pro-actively collaborate with the team on solutions. Additionally, the Developer will be expected to support operations and maintenance of applications under test, demonstration, and deployment. This position is with an Austin, Texas client. Required Skills / Experience of the JavaScript Engineer: 4-7 years of extensive experience with complex JavaScript development; advanced JavaScript design patterns, DOM manipulation, event management, and AJAX Solving a broad variety of problem areas of cross-browser development 3+ years of RDBMS experience (SQL, transactions, and troubleshooting) 3+ years of Java programming of Servlet-based applications Solid understanding of software design concepts, patterns, and best-practices Ability to make architectural decisions in a highly collaborative environment on issues such as client and server-side state management, bandwidth usage, and performance Significant experience with asynchronous programming models (asynchronous events from server to browser; queuing mechanisms; and distributed systems) Proven delivery of production-grade applications, including security, diagnostics, maintainability, scalability, auditing, and complex multi-layer troubleshooting experience A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or other strong Mathematics education Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.
