MySQL Course The primary goal of this course should be for students to create a working database on a Linux server that has been optimized for performance. The course should be in the area of 200 pages of single spaced typing. The course must be built to be used on CentOS or Ubuntu distributions as we will be building virtual machines for students to use and it should be performed with the current vrsions of MySQL which are on those distributions, recognizing that CentOS will have an older version. The CentOS version can be used for the course. The couse should be created on and for Linux servers(not Windows). Labs Each section must have step-by-step labs that a student can perform from the command line and recognize they have a solution. In other words, when the lab is complete they should easily see they have been successful or not. The course must have at least 25 labs which should be about a page each. Practical Applicaton The course needs to take students from creating a database to be able to maintain a database in a practical manner. I would like to see the labs working toward a database that could be useful, in other words the labs help students creating a pactical database a company might want to use. This links the labs into a practical solution goal.
