SIMNJP00014276 Desktop Support Location: New Orleans, LA Length: 2 Months If interested, please send resume to email@example.com Description: Seeking a bright, energetic, technology proficient Desktop Technician to assist the Hospital IT Department in ensuring installation and maintenance of all computer equipment, including applications, peripherals, troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and networking issues. Major Responsibilities: • Utilize good communications skills when communicating with users, co-workers and guests. Interfaces with users to help resolve hardware problems with PC equipment. • Field level two support calls from the customer. Install, monitor and maintain the End User Computer equipment and Peripherals. • Installation of desktop software and hardware including all computer components. • Windows OS, Windows BackOffice, Desktop Imaging, Basic LAN, Remote application skills. • Diagnose and take correction actions to resolve desktop hardware and software issues. • Follow set procedures to replace /or place appropriate service calls to have equipment repaired or software issues resolved. • Maintain accurate inventory of all types of equipment utilizing the equipment inventory system. • Respond to on-call calls within the set guidelines • Perform software installation on printers, scanners and bar coder readers • Coordinate LAN hardware installation with other technical staff. • Follow time and attendance polices and procedures including proper punching. • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Must perform all other duties and assignments. Education and Experience: - High School Graduate. Some college desirable, but not necessary. - Three years experience with PC hardware, setup, troubleshooting and repair - Three years experience with off the self desktop software including Windows XP, Windows 7 and Office 2003 - Certifications a plus - Preferred Health Care IT experience, but not required. - Knowledge of basic networking functions. - Must have good verbal and written skills. - Must have the ability to interact daily with the customer over the phone as well as in person.
