Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer
ACS has a 3+ Month long contract with a client located in CA for a Jr. Level Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer that is an Expert SolidWorks user. The job description is below. If this is something that you are interested in please email a WORD FORMATTED RESUME to bryan.stenquist@acsnatl.com and I will contact you directly to discuss the position. • Component and system level design, analysis, debug and rework. • Writing documentation for designing, building, testing and reworking systems. • Development of lab validation systems for component and module bring-up and test. • Assembly of Clients camera systems and use of lab equipment to troubleshoot and validate system, subsystem and component functionality. • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering • Strong Mechanical Design skills, a strong understanding of general mechanical design practices, particularly design for manufacturability and precision tolerances. • Must be driven to design and build hardware in a rapid fashion while rigorously applying mechanical engineering mathematics and best practices. • Mastery of SolidWorks for 3D modeling and released 2D drawing creation. • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Team player with the interpersonal skill and personality inclination to work with and/or manage other team members. • Ability to work independently and take initiative in difficult situations. • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. • Experience working with domestic and off-shore CMs, OEMs, design partners and customers. • Excellent communication, creative problem solving and solid project management skills. • 2 years of camera or lens development experience • Skilled in calculation of tolerance stacks and application of GD&T technique. • Ability to travel as needed for vendor evaluation and bring up • Working knowledge of various production processes including injection molding, die-casting, extruding, sheet metal stamping & forming, machining, painting, powder coating, plating and conversion coating. • Mechanical stress and strain analysis; FEA. • Design of molded plastic parts.
