Responsibilities: Day-to-Day maintenance and troubleshooting of (primarily RedHat/CentOS) Linux Servers Linux desktop/laptop support Automation of administration tasks Server monitoring Supporting development environments Maintaining user accounts via NIS/LDAP Maintain backups Configure and build custom servers Networking, including switches, VPN and firewalls Apache configuration and maintenance, module installs, etc Maintain mail servers Maintain requests via a ticketing system Some MySQL database management. Maintain DNS server Skills required: Solid knowledge of RedHat / CentOS Experience with the Postfix mail system. Knowledge of LDAP and NIS and maintaining both. MySQL Experience supporting Ubuntu knowledge Cisco configuration Bugzilla configuration Shell scripting (perl, ruby, etc., a plus) Excellent customer service skills DNS administration with bind/named Ability to work on your own with little supervision puppet is a plus Package building and installing software from source. Configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef VMWare or Xen; any experience with AWS is a huge plus Knowledge of AWS Services (EC2, S3, etc.) Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
