**TEKsystems is looking for a SQL Database Administrator for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Newtown Square, PA.** General Description: Define, support, and ensure the integrity of all databases and data in a distributed multi-application environment. Duties include but are not limited to data modeling and architecture support related to the design, development and integration of new applications utilizing state-of-the-art database technology. Implement and support database related software and solutions in accordance with the best practices and technology direction of our client. Qualifications: - 5+ years experience working with large SQL Server databases, including clustering, replication, mirroring - Server management experience, including application of conventions for data maintenance and overall system monitoring - Experience with automation of SQL Server Management Objects (Shell, Python, Bash scripting) - Knowledge of or experience with Object Relationship Mapping (ORM) - Knowledge of or experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) - Experience with virtualized environments - Agile development practice knowledge is a plus - Demonstrated knowledge of and success with current technologies, such as SQL Server 2008 R2 - Knowledge of SQL Server: security; backup and recovery capabilities; System and Database performance management; data architecture and capacity planning; disaster recovery planning and testing - SQL Server Mirroring and Clustering - Strong data modeling skills and techniques - Bachelor's degree preferably in a technology field; equivalent experience may be considered.
