Program Manager, Google.org Mountain View, CA The area: Google.org Google.org uses Google's strengths in information and technology to address global challenges and make a lasting impact. We seek innovative solutions and entrepreneurial approaches to issues such as crisis response, education, and access to technology. The role: Program Manager, Google.org As a Program Manager you will develop a grant portfolio in the tens of millions. You will find the projects, evaluate their merits, defend them internally, fund and then assess their impact over time. In addition to your own portfolio, you will provide leadership across the teamas broader portfolio. Youall work closely with teams across Google and external experts to identify entrepreneurial non-profits and social businesses bringing transformational impact on critical global challenges. You will assess potential partners and build and manage a portfolio of grantees. Weare looking for someone with creativity, a passion for the nexus of technology and the social sector and an ability to move quickly to get things done. Responsibilities: * Looking at the challenges the world faces, especially the most disadvantaged communities, and who is addressing them in innovative ways. * Source and evaluate best-in-breed non-profits and social enterprises globally. Tap internal and external advisors and experts to help shape programs. * Develop grant agreements with partners with clear, measurable deliverables and budgets. * Manage a portfolio of grantee relationships, immersing yourself in projects in such a way that you use every resource at your disposal -- and then some -- to make your partners successful. * Gather and analyze massive amounts of information expeditiously; synthesize answers, create presentations and develop project plans. Minimum qualifications: * BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience). * 5 years of professional experience. * Experience to creating and implementing creative initiatives that have social impact. Preferred qualifications: * Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills. * Experience working at a leading non-profit, philanthropy, or social business venture, and developing and deploying technology. Experience as a management consultant. * Professional distinction in thought leadership and innovation; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and impeccable judgment. * Adaptable, flexible, capable of working both independently and in teams, and able to quickly build expertise in new areas and projects. * Demonstrated passion for using technology to make the world a better place. * Foreign language skills or international background.
