MAD4Africa was formed in March 2008 and is run by a small committed team of volunteers. It’s the team’s raw passion and dedication to making a difference that drives them forward. MAD4Africa is energetic, with volunteers from Australia,England, France and Rwanda who come together every couple of weeks to advance our projects in Rwanda and Uganda. MAD4Africa works independently to raise the funds and chooses projects that are sustainable and build better standards of living across Rwanda. MAD4Africa are recruiting for a Fundraising Manager to volunteer with us in a voluntary part-time capacity. Job Purpose: To plan, manage and develop fundraising activities in order to deliver the agreed targets for income and profile for MAD4Africa. This is an opportunity to join a young and dynamic team who all give up their spare time to work on a development project in Africa. This is an ideal opportunity to s KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - To lead on applying for grants from Trusts and Foundations - To develop and implement new fundraising events working with the Events Coordinator within the context of the agreed Events plan and overall fundraising plan - To recruit and develop new supporters for participation in fundraising events, with responsibility for specific areas of the marketing strategy - Working in coordination with Fundraising and Marketing team on fundraising events - Ensure that all expenditure is kept within agreed budgets - Undertake feasibility and risk assessments of each event - Ensure that appropriate literature and materials are provided at events - Ensure that records are kept of all income generated from fundraising events - Undertake evaluation of fundraising events, including assessment of income raised and feedback from participants and, if appropriate, suggest improvements for future events - Provide support and advice to colleagues in all departments on fundraising and marketing matters, as required. - Maintain an up to date knowledge of charity law affecting fundraising and events KEY DELIVERABLES - Devise, develop and present creative and innovative ideas for fundraising events in order to raise funds and the profile of MAD4Africa - Ensure internal and external publications, staff communications and other publications are utilised in full to market events and promote the charity - Develop in conjunction with the IT& Communications Manager, the events sections of the website and keep information clear, up-to-date and asattractive as possible, especially in relation to competitors - Attend committee meetings when/if required MAD4Africa are a small grassroots charity that have been making a difference on the ground in Rwanda. We are a volunteer run charity who are committed to making a real difference by using our skills and experiences and working together as a team to make real changes in this world.
