A leading scientific fellowship based in Central London is urgently on the look out for a 1st & 2nd Line IT Support Analyst for a new contract role. The 1st & 2nd Line IT Support Analyst will be working in a small IT team and will be acting as an initial point of contact for the IT Service Desk. The role focusses on delivering high level 1st & 2nd Line support to the end users and members of the public across all offices. The 1st & 2nd Line Support Analyst will be responsible for the following: * Support of Microsoft and Macintosh based hardware, OS and software applications. * Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone or electronically, making sure user issues are diagnosed and resolved efficiently in accordance with SLA's. * Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues, escalating any unresolved issues. * Provide day-to-day administration of the Society's telephony systems, including mobile voice and data services. * Be responsible for "moves and changes" of staff in terms of IT and communications equipment. * Keep abreast of system information, changes and updates as well as contributing to relevant documentation. * Consult staff on the use of IT for special projects or events, giving advice on purchasing and maintaining software and hardware. * Support users in the use of IT equipment by providing necessary training and advice. Qualifications: * Degree or other relevant qualification in an IT discipline, or relevant IT experience in a similar role of supporting a 150+ users. Knowledge/ Experience: * In-depth knowledge of supporting Windows and Apple Mac hardware & software. * Knowledge of MS Active Directory and MS Exchange for user account and mailbox creation. * Experience of administering telephony systems and mobile voice and data services. * Diagnostic skills for resolving complex technical hardware and software issues. * Relevant experience of call tracking applications. * Knowledge and experience of customer service best practices.
