In this role, you will have the following activities, duties, and functions: Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Performs a variety of complicated tasks May lead and direct the work of others May report directly to a project lead or manager A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected To qualify for this exceptional opportunity, you must meet the following qualifications (required unless noted otherwise): Bachelor's Degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures Thorough understanding of software QA engineering processes and practices 5+ years of software development and/or testing experience on web- and database-based applications 2+ years of build engineering with Maven including writing Maven plug-ins Experience automating project builds and environment deployment and configuration Experience maintaining large environments Experience coordinating goals and managing expectations of several teams Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented, thorough, and ability to work independently Maven including fundamentals: lifecycles, phases, POM structure and development (inheritance, dependencies, plug-ins) and Maven plug-in development (Java programming) Virtualization experience, preferably VMware Version Control System experience, preferably Perforce, Git and/or Mercurial Continuous Build System experience, preferably TeamCity Basic understanding of SQL
