Our Miramar, Florida client has a Functional Analyst role that is responsible for understanding and documenting current business practices and will work collaboratively with IT and Accounting business users to identify opportunities for business changes required for implementing a property management system with a concentration on accounting processes. The Analyst, using functional knowledge, engages with technical peers to define strategic direction within the specific discipline and to solve complex business problems; by means of a systematic and disciplined approach. This position employs business process knowledge, analysis, design, testing, and collaboration with technical peers to accomplish assignments. The successful Analyst applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Strong problem solving and communication skills Must be able to work independently and with users that work remotely 5 to 7 years of experience working with accounting systems Prior experience implementing property management systems including accounting functionality will be a plus A CPA will be a plus Preferred Skills: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring - manage issues, risks, and requirements Requirements Management, Documentation, and Communication Systems Analysis - must be able to define the need; identify gaps in between current and future capabilities if changes required, and must be able to propose an approach / solution and build a case to justify the work Requirements Analysis - must to able to elicit requirements for accounting business users and prepare documentation needed to support project objectives including, but not limited to functional specifications, business requirements, and training materials Validation - ability to define test scenarios and perform testing activities for all impacted changes Credit Card processing - experience working with credit card payment applications and processors is a plus Property Management and Point of Sale Systems - experience integrating accounting applications into Property Management and Retail Point of Sale terminals will be a plus Soft Skills - proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, or other
