A Kforce Orlando, Florida client is seeking a MS SQL Database Admin that will administer SQL Server Databases under minimal supervision to include web, application, and batch process servers with a primary focus on design and infrastructure. Main Duties: Manage day to day database operations Install, configure, and maintain SQL 2008 Perform advanced database administration activities including installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, and database back-up and recovery This Admin may design disaster recovery procedures Perform database analysis, performance tuning, and disk optimization Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve SQL server-related issues for internal and external customers Rapidly learn new technology Evaluate and recommend new database technologies Work closely with Developers, Support and QA Teams to design and optimize all DB environments Prepare scripts to automate administration tasks Mentor technical and non-technical team members Required Knowledge and Skills: Have a wide range of experience and be able to resolve complex issues Must be able to work on complex and diverse projects Analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors Exercise good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions Excellent knowledge of database administration, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and systems analysis procedures Excellent working knowledge of database software and operating systems Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in the development process Excellent presentation skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Must be able to design databases according to industry standards and make tuning recommendations Must be able to write and optimize complex queries A Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) will be a plus Preferred: Experience in Unica Campaign and eMessage System Administer experience Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Certification A Degree in a field of technology
