Hello. We are looking to have a simple, clean, user and admin friendly news website design that we can host on hosting providers such as blue host, dream host, or a similar provider. Under our own url. Including installation of needed software and plug ins. The site should: 1) Have a search function 2) Have a simple archive function (possibly just a forward and backward button) 3) Allow users to sign up for email newsletters 4) Allow admin to send emails to selected/all signed up users (e.g. newsletter) 5) Display articles of the day on one page 6) Allow articles to be expanded (e.g. click on title) and be shown on their own page 7) Have a polling/quiz tool 8) Have a landing/about page 9) Allow for later integration of adverts and or affiliate links (e.g. to Amazon) 10) Have several author accounts 11) Have an admin account that can accept/reject author submissions 12) Have a message function (users can send messages) 13) Commenting function (users can comment on articles) including comment rating 14) Allow for js and possibly other scripts to run in the future (simple programs) 15) DB connectivity (e.g. to store quiz questions and user answers to it) And probably another 15 things that we have forgotten to write down and another 15 that we have not even thought about ;-) Overall we think standard stuff. We are looking for a simple and clean design with fairly standard functionality. Can use a ready made wordpress theme or other theme by different CMS provider. Ready made DB schemes also fine.
