We are looking for an au pair or mother's help, ideally live-in, to help us to run our house and take care of and be a companion to our 13 year old daughter. We (mum and dad) both have very busy professional jobs and do lots of travelling in the UK and abroad which often means early starts and/or late finishes. We need help with school pick-ups and drop offs, morning and evening routines, cooking, tidying and some light cleaning. There would be some 'sole charge' of home (and daughter & dog). We estimate 25 hours of 'on duty' per week mostly late afternoon/ evening but some morning help would also be required. We may be able to increase / decrease these hours. Most importantly we are looking for somebody lively, sociable and energetic who will be a good companion for our daughter, probably a young woman in the 20-25 years age range. Experience of running a house is less important than an ability and appetite to learn and get involved. Some experience with animals and an 'outdoor' life or living in the countryside would be good. A driving license would be a distinct advantage - although not necessary. Our daughter is very lively, busy, happy, intelligent, musical, strong-willed and independent. We also have two sons aged 20 and 24, both away at university. We live in a large, 6-bedroom house in Rusholme, South Manchester, opposite a park and only 5 mins walk from the main bus routes to University/Manchester centre. We also have a very friendly ex-racing greyhound who our daughter is madly in love with. She is very capable of looking after her on her own but a 'dog friendly' person who is happy to feed dogs and take them for walks is nevertheless a must. We also have a New Forest pony in Cheshire which our daughter is equally mad about and which we visit once or twice a week. If you live in, there is a room with a double bed and PC/internet. The bathroom is shared with our sons (when they are here). You can eat with the family and be part of the family (note: we are vegetarians!) or you can cook when you wish. If you want to take another part-time job or study part-time that is fine. We are looking for someone who has some experience and can provide references. We travel to northern France and the far north of Scotland on a regular basis, in the summer for weeks at a time. You would be welcome to come with us and we would pay all the travel expenses.
