Job #3158: IT Project Manager-IT Infastructure Projects The selected candidate will work as a member of the Information Technology (IT) Program Management Office (PMO). The selected candidate will manage primarily IT technical projects in the IT Infrastructure space. Responsibilities include: initiating and chartering projects; managing scope, changes and ensuring product quality; managing all aspects of project execution including creating and tracking to cost, schedule and scope baselines; developing and managing to run rates; managing risks and issues; providing clear and accurate weekly and monthly project reporting and forecasting; delivering projects to production using readiness assessment, sign-off and project close-out techniques; and acting as a champion to foster a positive project work environment, identify and resolve project related problems, and successfully lead the team to accomplish all the project objectives in the allotted time and budget constraints. This is a 6 - 12 month minimum assignment and requires on-site presence both in the Westwood MA and Berlin CT areas. Strong experience in the IT Infrastructure space and appropriate technical understanding of IT Infrastructure areas such as VoIP and IT network integration are required. Experience with the Electric and Gas Utility is a plus. The successful candidate will be fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the project management Body of Knowledge. The candidate must have demonstrated experience successfully managing projects and be able to cite practical examples of this including example deliverables. PMI (Project Management Institute) certification as a PMP (Project Management Professional) is required. Experience with the Microsoft Project is required. The successful candidate must be a high energy, detail oriented individual who will demonstrate: high caliber communication, leadership and people skills; strong organizational skills; and the ability to successfully initiate, track, report and close projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate and coordinate activities with diverse groups, including stakeholders, sponsors, team leads and technical staff; a strong process orientation including producing high quality documentation artifacts; and a sound working understanding of IT concepts and the IT design & delivery life cycle. The successful candidate also will demonstrate the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization from administrative and technical staff to executive Steering Committees, and also the ability to plan and execute Organizational Change Management to ensure that the technical solution delivered is fully accepted and used, and provides solid business value. Manager is looking for someone with a BS Degree and PMI Certification is a must (PMP). In this case an engineering/Electrical/IT CS background is a plus. Candidates with a Business degree is ok if they have appropriate IT experience. Candidates must have a minimum 5 to 10 years experience. The Order is for 6 months to start but could go out 1 year.
