The Customer requires a senior Base SAS/EG programmer, with experience working with healthcare claims data, and ideally, Call Center related data (a plus). The essential duties and responsibilities primarily are to serve as an interface between the data development team and the analytical team creating data definition documents serving to translate modelers' needs into actionable ETL projects resulting in analytical data marts. Services may include focus on and require the Consultant to: 1. Be proficient in Base SAS programming (DATA step), SQL programming (i.e., use of SQL pass-through or PROC SQL), as well as the client Macro language for use in making code more efficient. 2. Project experience accessing RDBMS's - primarily Teradata (and perhaps Oracle & SQL Server). 3. Coding and performing ETL process with an Analytical Data Mart as the target. (Any experience preparing data for fraud analytics is a plus.) a. Extracting and transforming data to be used in predictive models. b. Denormalizing data from RDBMS data sources c. Ability to merge disparate data sources together into the analytical data mart. 4. Knowledge of statistical techniques such as various types of regression based models, principle components analysis, nonlinear/logit models, etc. a. Models will be built by the analytical team, but it is necessary for the Consultant to understand the statistical principles, vocabulary & terminology. 5. Knowledge of analytical techniques and definitions when interfacing with statisticians and business users in defining and translating user requirements, data sources, transforms and targets into analytical ready data. 6. Ability to interface between data developers and the analytical team to operationally define modelers' needs for data structure. 7. It is extremely important to have experience writing data definition documents, in order to adequately communicate statisticians' needs to data development team for the correct construction of analytical data marts. 8. Experience with productionalizing models and the model scoring code logic to production jobs. 9. Project experience with Enterprise Guide to perform data management activities. 10. Healthcare claims data knowledge is required. 11. Additional coding responsibilities would be to take ownership of legacy code written by others and understand what the code does, how to modify it, and how to make it more efficient if need be. 12. Must have some data modeling / data architecting exposure.
