IT Specialist
Link Technologies is currently looking for a qualified IT Specialist for a contract to hire position in Las Vegas, NV. Summary The IT Specialist is a professional whose primary responsibility is to manage Client information technology infrastructure. The IT Specialist provides a stable, high performance and cost effective information technology (IT) platform for the company to conduct its business. With a broad spectrum of experience, IT Specialist regularly exerts discretion and independent decision making in managing every aspect of our information technology infrastructure. The IT Specialist acts as an advisor and consultant in support of all company employees and clients. The IT Specialist monitors performance, performs troubleshooting and equipment repairs, and installs hardware and software upgrades. The IT Specialist researches technology and recommends solutions that best meet company requirements. The IT Specialist is responsible for the security of the company’s information technology assets. The IT Specialist develops, maintains and implements IT policies. The IT specialist evaluates, selects, and negotiates with vendors. They also manage vendor performance and resolves issue as they arise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job optimally, the individual must be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Manage and control an inventory of internal company devices including but not limited to personal computers, laptops, monitors, printers and other end-user equipment. Receive and respond to incoming help tickets through electronic communications. Document workflow and problem trends within the company network and research and execute resolutions. Monitor network traffic and datacenter stability through hands-on and electronic utilities Quality-check and repair hardware issues on equipment. Document, track and submit RMA and warranty status or replacement on end-user equipment. Maintain documented inventory on all hardware and licenses in network. Maintain SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) manuals for network and network device use. Research and identify problem areas and security threats within the company network. Maintain external employee computer equipment and software. Maintain internal server performance, stability and backups. Maintain end-user maintenance and backups. Effectively communicate IT needs and concerns to management. Effectively document/map network changes and standardization. Effectively maintain internal security of files. Effectively maintain external servers, webhosts and accounts. Effectively evaluates, selects, and negotiates with vendors and manages their performance. Education/Experience This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Two years prior IT, Helpdesk or Computer Repair experience. A+ certification, Network+ certification or other technical certifications are preferred but not required. Quantitative Skills: Advanced financial math skills are required as this position. Ability add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Reasoning Ability: The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Time Management: Uses time effectively and efficiently; values time; concentrates efforts on most important priorities; gets more done in less time than others; can attend to a broad range of activities. Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
