Contract Control System Design Engineer A contract Control System Design Engineer is required to work in the Product Development Department. Experience is required of designing and implementing control systems for positioning linear actuator systems. The primary task is to develop a control system for a product where its position is controlled by the co-ordinated movements of multiple linear actuators. The ideal candidate will also be able to implement the control system on an embedded controller programmed in C and produce high quality supporting documentation including requirements, design and test specifications. In the absence of software design skills, experience of analogue/digital/microprocessor hardware design would be advantageous. Experience of working in a regulated industry is highly desirable. Essential skills and knowledge Control system design: Speed & position control of DC motors, Multi-axis positioning. Documentation: Production of requirements, design and test specifications. Process: Experience of rigorous design process. Desirable skills and knowledge Programming Skills: Embedded software, C programming for low level embedded applications. Standards: Experience of working with medical industry standards would be advantageous e.g. IEC 60601 Other: Analytical and Systems design skills. Duration Initially 3 months with possible extension.
