French Speakers Required
A Localisation Tester works with an already translated game to identify language and cultural issues within the translated text. This includes the obvious things like spelling, grammar, punctuation, case, tense, gender, etc. Consistency is also very important to ensure that games have a coherent feel to them particularly if multiple translators have worked on a translation. Perhaps the most important aspect of a Localisation Tester's role is to identify "cultural issues" such as jokes which are no longer jokes after translation, idioms which do not translate and cultural references which are inappropriate for the target audience. Some small translations may also form part of the work. It is vital that a Localisation Tester has a strong understand of the culture they are testing for. For example, someone could be a native Spanish speaker but does not have an understanding of Spanish culture because they are South American. Excellent written language is also essential. The key skills for a Localisation Tester are as follows: - Native level fluency in the required language - Strong English language skills - Strong cultural understanding of English and the required language/locale - Enthusiastic gamer - experience of at least one current platform - Great team worker - Excellent attention to detail - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely - Previous experience, particularly in console submission processes, is a distinct advantage but isn't essential Adecco acts as an equal opportunities employer.
