My client based in Edinburgh is currently seeking a Works Performance Officer to work in their roads department for a minimum of 6 months Performance measurement - Undertaking work performance assessments for manual & craft staff - Providing performance reports for Senior Management team - Maintain the assessments database and ensure that key assessment dates are met Contract Measurement - Measurement of completed works and detailed cost analysis - Evaluation of actual contract costs against budget estimate costs - Providing detailed spreadsheets for Senior Works Officer highlighting anomalies in costs The duties of the post are predominately office based, however a full driving licence is essential as site visits will be required periodically. The person should have good experience working with Microsoft Excel & Word. They must also have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and be comfortable using email. It is essential that candidates have a sound understanding of roads maintenance operations, and are familiar with technical specifications relating to roads construction methods. Ideally the candidate should have fulfilled a similar role with a construction or civil engineering firm and have a degree in civil engineering. The duration of the contract will be 6 months initially, however this is likely to be extended. The working hours are 36 per week, based on 0815 - 1600hrs Monday to Thursday, 0815 - 1515hrs on Friday.
