Title: Extruder Operator / Machine Operator Location: Lymington, Hampshire Salary: £7.00 - £8.94 per hour Contract Type: 6 month fixed term contract to permanent A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Extruder Operator / Machine Operator to join the production department of a global supplier of high quality, technically proven tapes based in Lymington, Hampshire. In return you will receive a salary of £7.00 - £8.94 per hour and benefits include free eye tests, busy bees vouchers and free parking. This is a full time shift rota, 6 month fixed term contract role with the possibility of becoming permanent. The company has over 45 years experience in manufacturing butyl tapes, developing formulations for many different applications. This is a privately owned family business, which allows them to make decisions, to be flexible and to connect with their customers on an intimate level. As an Extruder Operator / Machine Operator your duties will include: • Manufacturing of materials for supply to company customers • Pack a product, approx 2000 units in a 9 hour shift • Ability to set and operate specific machinery within the extruder area in a safe and effective manner • To achieve the tasks set within agreed time and effectively communicating progress to others • Accurate recording of daily activity and material usage • Participation in companywide and specific continuous improvement activities • Operation of extruder and ancillary equipment • Responsible for monitoring the quality of the product produced • Solely responsible for ensuring the end product meets the required quality specification. • Cleanout of extruders and ancillary equipment • Ensuring working area is kept clean and tidy and free from obstacles affecting the safe working conditions of others The ideal Extruder Operator / Machine Operator will have the following skills and experiences: • Be a semi skilled Machine Operator • Numerate and literate • Ability to interpret detailed work orders and quality information • Ability to communicate effectively • Ability to be trained in operation of extruders and ancillary equipment • Operate as part of manufacturing team In return you will receive a starting salary of £7.00 ph, rising to £7.50 ph after the completion of stage 1 training, rising further to £8.94 ph once at a skilled level.
