Real Estate Paralegal (DEREP)

Prologis is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal (temporary position) in our Denver, CO office. This individual will provide support to Associate General Counsel and in-house Real Estate Counsel in real estate and other transactional matters. Responsibilities include providing legal and administrative support to the transactional group within the legal department with specific emphasis on acquisition, disposition, financing, development and leasing matters (including, title and survey review, preparation of closing documents, easements, leases, amendments and other related documents). Position Responsibilities: · Provide a high level of administrative general functions as required, specifically in the assistance in all stages of real estate and leasing transactions, with a heavy emphasis on title and survey review and the preparation of closing documents. · Support all aspects of real estate transactions, real estate aspects of corporate transactions, and leasing transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, closing mechanics and post-closing integration and administration. · Summarize material terms of contracts. · Assist with the preparation, review, edit and negotiation of legal documentation (including, easement documents, purchase and sale agreements and leases). · Contact regulatory bodies as needed to fulfill job assignments. · Develop professional relationships with resources both within the Company and outside the Company to advance information gathering and research goals. · Apply principles of law firm’s records retention program in developing files and closing of a file. Send closed file to records center for established retention period. · Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills & Experience: · A minimum of five (5) years of real estate and related experience, including a background in real estate transactional, leasing and/or construction, with a law firm or corporation. · Must have strong PC skills with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) as well as the ability to learn and use proprietary computer systems and databases. · Experience supporting and closing transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions, financings and developments. · Exceptional interpersonal skills, a commitment to professionalism, integrity and collegiality, and the ability to work on a wide range of legal matters. · Superior written and verbal communication skills required. · Legal research knowledge and ability to use law library are required. · Exhibits grace under pressure and has a good sense of humor and thrives in a fast-paced environment. · Must be independent, self-directed, organized and diligent worker, and able to work with minimal supervision. · Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities. · Able to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate to resources available. · Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. · Must be able to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems while knowing when and to whom to escalate issues. Nonessential Skills & Experience: · Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred. · Experience working at a title or escrow company.
