A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an interim Media Officer in this passionate and dynamic healthcare regulator. My client is a high-profile, not-for-profit with a need for a maternity cover for 6 months working in a small but impactful media team. The next 6 months look set to be an exciting time for the organizations and a busy time for the media team! Reporting to the Media manager, you’ll be a highly organised Media Officer with a background in a busy press office, or a journalist looking to make the move into PR. Contacts or experience in dealing with national press would be a distinct advantage. Key accountabilities: To act of first point of contact for media enquiries ensuring requests are managed quickly and effectively Assist and support Media Manager in implementation of medi a strategies Develop ideas for news stories and proactively sell-in Raise brand awareness via building relationships with key contacts Arrange media interviews and brief senior staff within the organisation Ad hoc administration duties including media monitoring and evaluation The candidate: Experience of working in a busy press office environment with direct contact with media Excellent communications skills both written and verbal including drafting press materials Administration skills including using journalist contact databases (Gorkana etc) Adept at preparing messages and drafting copy for a wide range of audiences Ability to deal confidently with senior stakeholders Applicants must be available for an immediate start for 6 months.
