Systems Administrator Jericho, NY Systems Administrator - - Solaris, Linux, Administering technical deployments, Telecommunications Will be expected to use technical knowledge and ability to work with others to solve technical issues in a timely fashion. Will assist in project work in addition to operational responsibilities for customer care, troubleshooting and problem resolution. High knowledge of system administration tools and processes. - Superior knowledge of server technologies on various operating systems (UNIX Solaris/Linux required). - Good programming skills (Shell, UNIX, Perl, PHP, Oracle) - Strong understanding of networking/routing and protocols in a distributed computing environment. - Strong inter-personal and communication skills with co-workers. - Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload. Ability to work as a team player. - More than 3+ years previous system administration experience on multiple operating systems (UNIX Solaris and Linux are required). - Previous experience working in a mid to large site/network. - Prior knowledge/experience with Internet applications (E-commerce, News, DNS, DHCP, Mail applications, System Security, System monitoring/management). - Strong knowledge of networking and telecommunication technologies - Standby and night support required during maintenance windows and per schedule
