Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Oracle DBA for a contract position with one of our premier financial industry clients in Columbus, OH. Seeking to recruit an individual experienced in Oracle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Oracle. Goldengate experience is a plus. Our team installs, maintains and administers mission-critical, leading-edge Oracle, Oracle Sybase, MYSQL and Progress databases. The DBA Team within Retail is responsible for supporting new business initiatives and projects, ensuring housekeeping and monitoring of all database systems, providing 24x7 production support and processing Enterprise Change Management business requests for various database activities. First point of contact to support a designated business group with responsibility for one or more of the following: root cause analysis, change management, incident management (coaching, docum, QA, training/cert., oversight of incident ops, governance, tools, process, crisis mgmt), problem management, service improvement, internal/external customer file transmission design, discovery/gathering/documenting of business needs and requirements, business communication. Responsibilities: * The exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. * Design work (Design means a tailored design in order to meet a specific client request) * Programming (Programming means writing original programs using computer code that is intended for use on a wide scale basis.) This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource. * Supporting new business initiatives and projects * Ensuring housekeeping and monitoring of all database systems * Provide 24x7 production support * Processing Enterprise Change Management business requests for various database activities. * Responsible for Oracle Database Administration and support. * Provide input into overall development/implementation plan and document database builds and changes, perform SQL designs, table designs, and stored procedures work * Ability to architect, design and configure large, complex databases with replication and high-availability on the most current Oracle versions. * Translate logical to physical design, develops comprehensive DB architecture, implementation and upgrade plans and assists in definition of database standards, policies, and procedures.
