Demotix is a UGC agency linking citizen journalists to the mainstream media. Demotix wants to counter the demise of international reporting by connecting freelance photographers, amateurs and the average person with the global media. Their ambition is to give independent journalists the chance to make a living, and to continue producing awe-inspiring work. And it’s not just about professionals. Remember all those pictures of the London bombings, of the Tsunami, of the monks in Burma? They were all taken by people who just happened to be there at the time and managed to snap a picture with their mobile phone or a camera. We are all journalists now.
